Cottages built for privacy and unobstructed views, located in Austurey 1 by lake Apavatn.
The sleeping area contains a ready-made double bed (160cm) which leads to a private bathroom with a shower. Each cottage has a kitchenette as well as a table and chairs for dining.
The living room contains a smart flat screen television and a sofa where guests can relax and enjoy the view over the lake as well as the surrounding mountains and volcanoes Hekla and Eyjafjallajökull.
In front of each house is a heated veranda with private garden furniture and barbecue facilities (gas grill).
Guests are welcome to visit Austurey's sheep shed by agreement (November-May). Lake Apavatn is ideal for fishing (February- September). Thriving birdlife is by the lake and therefore a great location for bird watching. Austurey is a perfect location to view the northern lights, due to limited light contamination.
